Ascend
Upscale video resolution or remove backgrounds from video clips — powered by Bria AI, with batch support and automatic re-encoding.
What It Does
Ascend brings two AI-powered video operations to your stock production workflow: upscaling low-resolution footage to a higher resolution, and removing backgrounds from video clips. Both operations are handled by Bria AI and re-encoded locally into your chosen output format.
Upscale
Increase the resolution of your video clips — useful when your source footage is too low-res for stock platform requirements. Choose your upscale factor (2× is the standard option) and Ascend sends the video to Bria AI, receives the enhanced result, and saves it to your output folder.
Upscaling is particularly useful for older footage or AI-generated clips that need to meet 1080p or 4K submission standards.
Remove Background
Strip the background from video clips automatically — ideal for creating isolated subject footage, overlay-ready clips, or green-screen replacements without manual rotoscoping.
You can set a solid background color for the output, or leave it transparent if your output format supports it. Ascend handles the re-encode automatically after Bria processes each frame.
Batch Queue
Add multiple video files to the queue with the same operation and settings. Ascend processes them in sequence — you can queue an entire folder of clips and come back when they're done.
If a job fails (e.g. a key error or network timeout), it retries with a fresh Bria key automatically before marking the item as failed.
Output & Tips
Export as MP4 (H.264) for broad compatibility or MOV for higher-quality masters. Keep source clips clean — heavy compression artifacts in the input will show in the output, especially after upscaling.
For background removal, clips with clear subject separation and consistent lighting produce the cleanest results. Complex motion or fine details like hair may need a manual review pass.
